Super Sonic

 *Super Sonic*
SPCA #: 07-13-078
Breed: Domestic medium hair
Age: 1-2 yrs
Gender: Male
Arrived at shelter: July 22, 2013

I am a handsome cat with a lot of energy! I pride myself on being very intelligent, and I am very interested and inquisitive about everything and everyone around me.
Because I have a ton of energy, I absolutely love being played with, and particularly enjoy chasing things in a mad random way!
When I do manage to sit still for a second, I love being stroked and petted, and also like to vocalize my thanks.
Sometimes I can get overexcited about other cats and find that they don’t always want to play when I do, but I am learning fast that this is not always a good idea!
At the moment I live at the rescue shelter which is very nice, but what I really need is a kind family to come and take me to live with them in a home I can call my very own. I wont need too much, just space to run around and play and a family who will let me love them to bits.
Because I am so clever, I can pretty much adjust to any situation and would get on well with other cats too! So please come and see me so that you can instantly fall in love with me and take me home with you!

This delightful little cat is such a joy to be around, and deserves to be given a chance of happiness. She would not disappoint whoever adopts her, and would be so loving and loyal.
Trix would be fine as an only cat, but also gets on OK with other cats, so what are you waiting for? Come and see if this pretty little cat is for you.

Lexi

*Lexi*
~Declawed~
SPCA#: 05-13-226
Breed: DLH
Age: 5yr
Gender: Female
Arrived at shelter: May 26, 13

Lexi is a very beautiful cat with show quality looks! She has huge bright blue eyes and very pretty coat markings.

Past experiences and personality
Sadly Lexi has been through experiences that have left her extremely scared. Because of her reluctance to interact with the world she is going to need a very special home where there will be no expectations or demands put upon her. Time and patience in a safe consistent environment is what this little girl needs.
Lexi tends to growl under her breath and back away when she is directly approached by people, and she has been known to bite. She currently dislikes being picked up, but this may change in the future. She has been declawed prior to coming to the rescue and so is unable to scratch people.

Lexi's future and positives
With a great deal of patience and a very caring and special family who are willing to give Lexi a chance of a happy home for life, she could begin to trust again and become part of a family.
She has been fostered by a volunteer for only a few days and in this time has shown that she does desperately want to please people and to give and accept affection. She has started to approach those she trusts and offer herself to be stroked and petted. She gets scared of sudden movements, especially of the hands, and it is best to leave her if she backs away growling and give her some space to compose herself again.
She has started to enjoy gentle play with cat toys. She likes a ball rolled towards her, and she will bat it with her paw. She also likes feather wand toys, and particularly ones associated with noise, such as with bells attached. Because Lexi has no claws, she cannot hold the feather toy firmly as if she has caught her prey, so for her self esteem it is important to be gentle and let her think she has caught the toy between her paws and that it can't get away!

Requirements of a happy home for Lexi
Lexi will need to have an indoor home. If she were to escape outside she would have no way of defending herself due to her lack of claws.
An ideal home would be quiet and calm, so that Lexi could have every opportunity to re-learn how to interact with people and begin to trust again.
This adorable little girl deserves a chance of happiness in life again and is waiting for a very special family to come and give her that opportunity of a life time in a forever home.
Please come and visit Lexi at the rescue.

Age: ~4yrs
Arrived at the Shelter: May 4, 2013

He is quite talkative and will frequently let you know that he is requiring some attention.
Mace would happily sit and let you stroke and pet him all day.!
Mace shows an interest in interactive cat toys, but generally prefers to laze around watching the other cats play, rather than being part of it!
This loveable boy is so gentle and easy going. He gets on OK with other cats and is also tolerant of less socialised cats. Mace just wants an easy life. He is no trouble and would make a fantastic addition to any family. He would be so appreciative if someone special could give him a permanent home for life.

*Viena*
SPCA #: 03-13-056
Breed: Domestic short hair
Age: 2 yrs
Gender: Female
Arrived at shelter: March 4, 2013

Viena is a medium sized pretty black and white cat. She is currently quite nervous at the moment, and tends to hide away if possible. However she is slowly starting to come out of her shell and relax more, especially around people she trusts. She is very gentle and loving and enjoys attention and being petted and stroked.
Viena is not particularly playful at the moment as is understandably still quite scared. She would rather be in a quiet and calm environment where she can observe her surroundings from a safe distance.
This sweet little cat is so gentle, and just needs to be given lots of love and affection to enable her to regain her confidence.
Viena is also de-clawed which means she will need to have a safe indoor home. She should not be in any situations where she would have to defend herself as she is now completely defenseless without her claws. Her ideal home would be quiet and calm, preferably without other cats and dogs. She would be OK with older children.
This lovely little girl really needs and deserves a secure home for life. Could you give her what she needs, and bring happiness back in to Viena's life.

Mimosa

"Mimosa"
SPCA#: 05-13-052
Breed: DMH
Age: adult
Gender: Female, spayed
Arrived at the shelter: May 1, 2013

Mimosa is simply adorable! This smaller than average girl with her soft grey fur will melt your heart.
Mimosa has an interesting personality, and is talkative and expressive when approached.
As a consequence of past experiences she has not quite developed some of the natural cat cues and behaviours that well socialised cats acquire, so she tends to cry out when picked up, and at times will hiss at other cats and inanimate objects! (even her litter tray!)
However these are mostly empty threats, and more of a defence mechanism and lack of confidence. These actions are not meant aggressively, and the frantic meowing when picked up, is really her saying, “thank you for picking me up, I really need a cuddle!”
Mimosa is such a kitten and is very playful and inquisitive. She scurries around batting balls and bits of paper around, and loves interactive play, such as feather wands and laser pointer.
She would suit a forever home that is calm, quiet with routine and consistency, especially at first. She would benefit from having plenty of places she can retreat to if she feels insecure.
She will suit being an only cat, but could also get along with other cats.
Once Mimosa can bond with one or more human companions, she will almost certainly come in to her own, and be devoted to her family. She wants to give her love and appreciation so much and just needs a special person to give her that opportunity of a life time.
